Day 114 Mt Adams

Day 114
September 11
15.5 miles
PCT mile  2253

Waking up to the smell of fresh coffee brewing and the sound of bacon sizzling in a warm bed was like heaven to me. I could lay here forever I thought to myself. I rolled out of bed to join our hosts and enjoy the awesome breakfast spread they had prepared for us.

Our hosts Andrea and Kent

Stuffed french toast, watermelon, bacon, and fresh biscuits for breakfast.

By midday we were all packed up ready to hit the trail again, our tummies full with real food.

Myself, our host Kent, Buffalo, and Hornsby at the trailhead.

Today's hike was gorgeous, we hiked around Mt Adams with fabulous views all around.

I stopped late afternoon for my break and  a very unhealthy but satisfying All-American snack of Coke and chips...thank you PCT for allowing me to indulge in unhealthy snacks and not feel one bit guilt about it.

I got to camp and found 13 of my fellow hikers conjugating together around the fire. It was going to be a cold night, forecast for 39 degrees. We sat around the fire eating dinner and enjoying each other's company. It's great having so many hikers around for this last part of the journey, this is when the comradery our each other's company is really needed to lift spirits of our tired souls.
